DATASUSTAIN
DATASUSTAIN EMDM project is funded by the European Commission Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM) action, and this opportunity provides a 15 months preparatory period for Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) Degree grant. We aim to apply for the EMJM as the next step.
NEXT STEP: EMJM APPLICATION

What is EMJM?

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJM) is a prestigious, fully integrated international study program delivered by a global consortium of universities. It allows students to study in multiple countries, earn joint or multiple diplomas, and gain access to world-class expertise in interdisciplinary fields. We will pay close attention to digitalization and new offers of digital education. Since we are living in a digital age, we need to immerse ourselves in the opportunities provided by digital tools in order to better understand the world around us. Gaining skills related to the digital world seems to be a very crucial step in this process. This digital age comes with exponential growth of new technologies, especially AI technology, and existing and new generations need to further integrate their toolkit with these developments.

Why it matters...

Because today’s global challenges—climate change, democratic backsliding, polarization, and misinformation—cannot be solved within one country or one discipline alone. EMJM brings together institutions, researchers, and students to create innovative, ethical, and sustainable solutions. For DATASUSTAIN, this is about building a new generation of data-savvy, socially responsible leaders who can act across borders. DATASUSTAIN MA Program aims to provide opportunities to graduate students that will enable them to improve their literacy in the digital world, helping them properly engage with advanced data analysis methods, computational social science modelling, and AI tools. This proficiency, in turn, empowers them to identify ongoing challenges along with predictions of potential future challenges.

What we aim to build...
DATASUSTAIN aims to develop a two-year Master’s program co-created by leading universities and institutions across Europe. This program will bring together data-driven education, artificial intelligence, and sustainability studies within an international learning environment. Through international learning and real mobility, the program will prepare graduates to design ethical, innovative, and sustainable solutions for today’s global challenges.
Why DATASUSTAIN?
In the context of today’s technologically advanced world, where vast datasets span every facet of social and political life, the persistence of the problems highlighted previously, despite these advancements, underscores a critical gap. The question then becomes: How can we leverage data more effectively to forge concrete solutions to these enduring issues?
DATASUSTAIN aims to equip graduates with the necessary skills and insights to undertake research projects, dissertations, academic publications, and professional careers that drive towards a sustainable future powered by data and informed by a commitment to data-driven Europeanization.
